I am getting so excited...I feel like a kid at christmas..I can't stand the suspense...!Here is a recipe that is a new favorite that I got from a fellow blogger this year...it is tasty...
P-Dub’s Potato Salad
5 pounds russet potatoes (about 8 medium russets)
1 1/2 cups real mayonnaise (NOT Miracle Whip)
4 tablespoons prepared mustard (regular, Dijon, or a mixture of both)
5 green onions, sliced up to the darkest green part
8 small sweet pickles (may use dill if that’s more up your alley)
1 teaspoon kosher salt (more to taste)
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 hard boiled eggs, coarsely chopped
Cut potatoes in halves or thirds, then boil until fork tender. Drain.
Mash potatoes or run them through a ricer or food mill to make them extra fluffy.
Fold potatoes together with mayonnaise, mustard, green onions, salt, pepper, and other seasonings you like. Fold in pickles and eggs, then taste for seasonings, adding more salt, mustard, or mayo as needed. You may also splash in juice from the pickle jar if salad needs a little moisture.
Serve with baked beans, coleslaw, pasta salad, burgers…and two pieces of pie.
And that’s an order.
have a good one..:)

UGH! I see all of these over achievers getting all of these entries and I feel like I am falling behind!! =(
I am going to try to catch up!
I am thankful for the wonderful family that I have...6 wonderful girls and a husband that any/every girl would be honored to have!
As for a recipe...My favorite is Sweet Mild dinner Rolls from the Taste of Home.
Slathered with a little honey butter and it is like a little bite of heaven on your tongue!!
Here is the recipe:
Sweet Milk Dinner Rolls~
2 cups milk (110-115 degrees)
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 tsp. salt
5 cups all-purpose flour

Dissolve yeast in warm milk. Add the sugar, butter, salt and 3 cups flour; beat until smooth. Add remaining flour to form a soft dough.
Knead until smooth...6-8 minutes. I use the dough hook on my Kitchen Aid mixer...it saves so much energy!
Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise until doubled, about an hour.
Punch the dough down. Divide into 16 pieces. Shape each into a ball. Place 2 in. apart on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise about 30 minutes.
Bake 350 degrees until golden...20-25 minutes.
Brush tops with milk.
These are so so yummy!

I hope that by some miracle my name will be chosen...even though my name is included not as many times!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I'm thankful for just waking up every day, in this wonderful country of ours. I also feel so blessed to have the family and friends that I have!

One of my favorite 'quickie recipes' is the one that follows.

Apple Dumplings
3 Granny Smith apples
2 cans cheap biscuits(10ct)
1½ sticks butter
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoons vanilla
cinnamon
1 small can Mountain Dew

Peel and core apples.
Cut each apple into 6 pieces.
Roll out each biscuit large enough to wrap apple slices in. Place in a 9 x 13 buttered pan. Pinch small chunks of the two remaining biscuits and drop here and there in the pan.

Melt butter, then add sugar and barely stir. Add vanilla, stir, and pour over apples. Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream if you like.

Lock all your doors 5 minutes before they are to come out of the oven...so you don't have to share. Ü
