This is going to be a very busy busy day for me....And what better way to start it off than sayin' hello to all my Prim Friends ? I also wanna share some news on my Daddy....Wednesday Dad had to have his right ear amputated. He had a cancerous tumor that had grown so BIG that they had to take the majority of his ear to get it all. We will know in 2 weeks if they were succesful in getting it all. Dad is still in A LOT of pain and was worried about what people will think when they see him. I told him ...Dad who cares what some shallow person may think ! They ARE NOT worth your worries because I'd much rather have you here than have you gone and still have your ear ! This is the first time thru everything Dad has endured that it has gotten him down emotionally. I am soooo used to seein' him be strong and face what has been thrown at him with such strength that it amazes me...I guess we all have to have those moments when we feel weak and vunerable. They also found a skin cancer spot on his left ear and some on his wrist. He has to put chemo lotion on them twice a day. He has been thru worse than this so I know we will come out victorious with this as well. God will see us through this storm !

I also have some health issues going on right now. I had to have a discogram done on my back Friday....and for any of you who have ever had one done you know how horrible it is ! For those of you who haven't...lemme' tell you lol it was worse than childbirth !

I had to take 2 valium before the test...well they may as well have just gave me an asprin ! It relaxed me for maybe the first 20 minutes and that was it ! Once he started putting the needles in and shooting the dye into my discs I don't think anything could have stopped me from my death grip on that bar part of the bed ! Nor the whimpers, tears and the close expletives that ALMOST left my lips !!!! LOL Girlies and Fellas I thought I was gonna die it hurt sooooo BAD ! I am STILL in pain from it and just today was able to actually get outta bed and move a lil. I cannot bend....laying down hurts....standing up hurts.....and I gotta sew ! LOL They did find that L4/5 are the discs that are giving me the most trouble. And L3 is leaking. They sent me to have a ct scan done immediately after the discogram and that will give the Dr even more info on the discs. He said he would like to do back surgery and do it as soon as he can get my insurance to authorize it. He then told me it should stop the toothache throbbing I have constantly in my legs and the burning sensations I have in my feet but that it wouldn't stop my back pain ? Hmmmm I have lotsa questions to ask before I consent to this. Decisions Decisions........Anyone else out there ever had anything like this done ? I would love to hear from you !

On to happier notes.....I have all ready sold my Santa and Snowman Tophat that I showed Y'all in my previous post ! Yeahhhh

Thats why I gotta get busy busy busy hehehehe....They didn't even make it to my booth ! I sold them to a customer at work ! I am working on a reindeer that will have Santa riding on his back right now and a few other Santas and a reindeer wreath. Hope to pour some tarts today as well as long as my back will hold up and let me. Going back to work tomorrow is sure gonna be a struggle !

Anyone out there know where I can find a tutorial on how to set my blog up to the 3 column template ? Or can give me pointers on how to do it or even wanna help walk me thru it ? lolol....My blog needs a renovation !

OHHHHH also be watchin' my future blog posts as I am going to be hosting a giveaway here really soon ! It's gonna be a fun one...

It's Really November All Ready ?

Hi Y'all ....I hope this post finds ya' in GREAT Spirits !

I cannot believe how fast this year has gone and it's November all ready ! I have had several posts typed up that I was gonna put on here several times BUT just never seemed to get around to it. So I thought I'd just start a fresh new post and no matter what, I am gonna get this one posted ! LOL It's sure been a busy year for me....With work, helpin' run the Prim Pals Forum, tryin' to fit in craftin' time and all the normal routines of life I've really let my blogs take a back burner =( I miss the bloggin' world A LOT ! There's gotta' be a balance somewhere ( I think lol ) that I can find so I can keep up with my favs and my blog as well. I guess I could do fend for yourself dinners a lil more often ? hehehehe...I also opened a booth in Bedford at Peddlers Corner and it has done amazingly well for me so far...I just gotta' try and get things made a lil faster for it. All my fall things I made for it sold except one pair of witches boots...I am hopin' that Christmas items sell just as well ! Crossin' my fingers. Here are a few pics of my booth.....

It's a pretty decent size booth...I picked up a fire place mantel at a garage sale for 15 bucks I plan to put against the back wall for Christmas...Can't wait to get it all decked out for the holidays ! I have been a busy beaver after work as much as I possibly can tryin' to get things sewn up and finished to take down there....I did manage to get a few things done yesterday while I was off and I hope to get even more done today....One is this Santa which I REALLY WANNA KEEP LOL ! His suit is made from wool felt...

He is made using a pattern from Sandy of The Olde Country Cupboard...Mr. Jingles #430...I just LOVE Sandy's patterns

Sandy did a feature artist of the month interview for us over on the Prim Pals forum and it was a delight to read all about how she got started, what motivates her and such...If you've not read it be sure to check it out !

I also made up this snowman tophat display yesterday...

I ended up addin' mica flakes and some german glass glitter to this but forgot to take newer pics with it on there....This was made usin' a pattern by Old Road Primitives...And yepp it's another thing I'd LOVE to keep lolol....

Over at Prim Pals we just posted a new swap for the members to participate it...if your not a member you should come check us out....

We have had some awesome swaps and I gotta say the goodies that are sent are jaw droppers lol...Lot's of interestin' things goin' on there and lotsa' cool things in the near future...Well I guess IF I am gonna get anything accomplished I best get movin' huh....

Hi Y'all ! I hope this post finds Y'all in GREAT spirits and in a cool place ! It has been sooooo hot here the last few days that my air almost feels like it's NOT workin' very well =( Today with the heat index it is 108 and it feels every bit of it too ! I leave for Gatlinburg tomorrow afternoon and I gotta' say I am gettin' sooooo excited ! We didn't know what to get my Dad for his 76th birthday so my oldest son and I decided to take him on a vacation to Gatlinburg. It's somethin' he has always wanted to do and it'll be a memorable gift for us all. Dad, myself, my oldest Josh and his fiance Lindsey are going. We plan to do the Dixie Stampede, the Titanic tour, take in the Ripleys aquarium and several other things while there....I'm hopin' the weather isn't too hot while we are there as I don't know how Dad will handle it ? Anyways 'nuff 'bout my trip ;0)

I spent almost a 3 full days in bed due to an unknown ailment that landed me in an ambulance and the ER from work...IF I try and do too much I get intense pain/pressure in my head that goes away IF I lay my head as flat as possible...1st they thought I might have been havin' a stroke or a brain aneurysm but thank God above it was neither. They did say that I had some constricted blood flow that could and most likely was the cause but they never really said much more. I was outta it after gettin' pain meds in my IV and my DH isn't much on askin' tons of questions ! Anyway I've been takin' meds they prescribed and if the pressure starts I just go lie down till it goes away. Knock on my noggin' the last 2 days haven't been very bad ! whewwww....Now I got off track a lil lol the story was leadin' up to my I gotta' get outta' the house excursion heehee....My oldest son Josh, Lindsey ( his fiance ) and my daughter MaKenzie took off and went to Trader Bakers in Martinsville....If you've read my blog before I'm sure you'll 'member me talkin' about it and even takin' Y'all on a shoppin' trip thru pictures with me *wink*

I gotta' say this place NEVER lets me down ! Lordy Girlies I hadda' put some stuff back I had my lil ol cart weighted down I tell ya' !

Heeeeheeee.....Josh said " Mom we are goin' on vacation dontcha' think ya' outta save a lil money towards it" ? So like a kid caught in the snack jar I weedled down my pics and ended up with the goodies Imma' show Y'all below....

Isn't this a beauty ?! Looks like someone made it out of an old laddle ? It came with the fixins in it and the candle for 10 bucks...

Then I found this Ginormous Shoo Fly Cover and it was a steal at only 5 bucks !

Normally when I see olde' wooden bowls like this I just pass on by 'cause they are usually wayyyy outta' my price range....For some reason though I picked this one up and I thought it was a fantastic deal for $19.99 ! It's 16 inches across.....

Now DH and I have a lil bet goin'.....He says I should paint it I say leave it alone and let the patina show ! Whadda' Y'all think ? Paint or leave it alone ?

This is based on a Tennessee Ridge Primitives Pattern BUT I didn't sculpt it with jute string and I also took some rusty wire and twirled it around a pencil to look like part of the punkin stem...

I still wanna add a crow to it too....That'll be another 4 a.m. crafty job lol.....

I will be listin' this and several other items on my sellin' blog within the next week or so....Well it's chat night on Prim Pals forum and I'm runnin' a lil late for it...We have such a BLAST ! I am still excited over my MOST AWESOME goodies from Ms. Gina of Cat Nap Inn Primitives (<~~link) We did a Christmas in July swap on the Prim Pals Forum (<~~link) and I was lucky to have Gina as my " Secret Elf " and wow wow wow ! Just wait till Y'all see my goodies she sent me !!!! I was just awe struck ! And they couldn't have come at a better time than they did ! I had an incedent at work that landed me in the back of an ambulance and to the ER. I am still not 100% yet =( If I try and overdo then the headaches and pressure in my head start again somethin' fierce ! Anyways nuff about that ! I gotta' show Y'all these goodies !!!!

I have been FINALLY tryin' to get in a lil more crafty time myself but with work, Dad and myself being sick here lately it's sure been hard to get things started let alone finished lol....Here are a couple things I been workin' on....

Tick....Tock....Tick....Tock

My ohhhhh my how fast time has flown since my last post here ! It just amazes me how quick almost 2 months have gone ! Seems like a blink of an eye and here it is all ready July. I thought I better get my booty on here and make some time to do a post. I really miss bloggin' like I was doin' but it just seems there's just NOT enough time in a day to do everything I'd love to accomplish. I'm sure y'all know exactly how that goes !!! I'm gonna make an afternoon of just readin' and catchin' up on my fav blogs....I miss doin' that too...

I need to hang a DO NOT DISTURB I'M BLOGGIN' sign up

so everyone knows NOT to bug me for a bit lol....Hmmmm wonder how well that would go over with the family ?!?!? He he he he...

Since I've last blogged my daughter MaKenzie has moved out ! And lemme' tell ya' I am sooooo lonesome for female conversation ! Being here with 3 men is enough to make me bonkers somedays. I thought I could adjust fairly well when she left but there are days I miss her sooooo dang much I just sit in my room and cry ! She does come out and stay the weekend once in awhile and when it comes time for her to leave again I just cringe ! It's funny when they are little you sometimes think I can't wait till they all move out and then when the time comes for it to happen it's another whole story ! lol

I swore I wouldn't have empty nest syndrome but boy it's hit me and hit me hard just thinkin' about it ! Jess is a senior this coming school year and has all ready begun to make plans for college in Florida

=( I can't believe my baby is so grown up all ready !!!!!! I wonder if it's just a Mama thing ? Cause my Hubbs sure seems to be handlin' it much better than me....How about y'all ? Does your DH's seem to handle it much better than you do ?

My Dad was also in the hospital again...this time it was for pneumonia and congestive heart failure. He is now on 24 hour oxygen at home. They increased his lasics meds to try and keep the

fluids outta' his lungs and from around his heart. I've been doin' A LOT of prayin' for a speedy recovery for him. He sure has been thru alot and he is someone I really look up to not just because he is my Dad but because no matter what he goes thru he stays strong, positive and he never lets his faith waiver. He always says I gotta stay positive or otherwise I might as well throw in the towel and give up.I sure hope if I ever go thru even a smidgen of what he has I can keep the same mentality he has thru the cancer, CHF,

emphysema and the other medical problems he has had over the years. I gotta' say he is takin' it a lil more serious this time too. He is

finally watchin' his diet way better. Stayin' away from salt and tryin' to eat healthier. It's gonna be a challenge for him and my family as well ( we're tryin' to change our eatin' habits too) but it's sure a

challenge that's worth takin' !

My nephew was also shot in Iraq since I last blogged. That was around June 24th. He was standing in an Iraqi Police Headquarters and an Iraqi insurgent shot him. The bullet went thru his wrist, entered thru his side and out the other. He was airlifted to Germany and then brought to Walter Reed Hospital in D.C. He lost 7 pints of blood and has had several surgeries since being shot. They are tryin' to rebuild his bladder and small intestine. He also has to have a colostomy bag but they are sayin' they hope to rebuild his colon so he won't have to have it the rest of his life. He is only 28 and it just breaks my heart ! This was his 3rd tour .....2 in Iraq and 1 in Afghanistan. I have another nephew who was deployed 3 days after

Jason was shot....So now I worry about his well being while being over there. Please say a prayer for Jason to continue to get better and that Jeremy will be safe while serving our great country and pray for all the other service men and women to come home safely to their families and loved ones !

I don't know about y'all but I'm ready for fall. It's been soooo dang hot, humid and muggy here that it just zaps your eneregy and ya' just don't feel like doin' a darn thing after work.....most days anyways and Fall is one of my fav seasons to decorate for. With Christmas/Winter being first. Now I just gotta' make "TIME" to get some of the things I'm workin' on finished up so I can share with y'all ! Geesh that "TIME" word again ! lol

Prim Pals has been a GREAT way for me to escape and I gotta' say there are sure a buncha' sweet talented gals on there !

Hi y'all I hope this post finds y'all in GREAT Spirits ! Can't believe how fast the days are going ! Seems like just last week I did a post and I look and it's been wayyyyy longer than that ! I thought I'd share a tutorial I did for Prim Pals forum on how to grunge items using paint, modge podge and cinnamon or whatever spices you'd like.... So here is the tut.....

Save those glass jars n things ! Don't throw 'em out. Just follow this lil ol' tut and grunge 'em up cause I finally got time today to do a grunging tutorial with pictures ! Yippppeee.....So sit back grab a drink and read on hehehehe.....

First for this tuorial you will need the following.....

1.Modge Podge matte-mat

2.Paints...I use folk art acrylic paints in Coffee Bean, Burnt Umber and Lamp (ebony) Black. You can use what ever colors you'd like.

3.Spices such as apple pie spice, cinnamon, ground cloves, coffee grounds, tea bag grounds, any pie spice would work too. These are just a few ideas I'm sure there's lots more ya' could use.

4.Foam paint brushes and throw away gloves. You can usually catch the foam brushes on sale 20 for a buck.

5.Wax or Freezer paper or something to cover your work area and to also set your projects on while they are drying.

6.Paper plate to mix your grunging mixture on.

7.Tin cans, glass jars, candles or whatever you want to grunge up

Once you have all your supplies gathered, tear a piece of freezer/wax paper to protect your work table and a place to set your projects as they dry. Most people brush on the Modge Podge and then roll their project in cinnamon or some other spice, I mix mine all up straight into the Modge Podge. Anyway take your paper plate and pour some Modge Podge on it and add just a bit of water. I can't tell you an exact amount as I don't know how much Modge Podge your using. You don't want it too runny nor too thick. If it gets too thick you can just add more water as you go too. You'll then add a squirt of your paint(s) and shake your spices on top of your modge podge and paint mix.

I put everything on the side to show y'all but normally as I said above I put it all on top of the modge podge. Mix well with your foam brush and it should look like chocolate pudding. (see pic below)

I do add a lil smidge of black to darken my brown up a lil more. I also sometimes add a lil more spice(s) to mine too.

It's all up to your preference on how you want yours....

After your done mixing it up to your liking, take your brush and start brushing it on your can/candle or glass item your grunging. Also keep in mind it will dry darker than it looks.

Here I have a candle drying after brushing it on....

Now while that's drying I'm going to start on my can.

While it's wet you can sprinkle even more spices/coffee to your Modge Podge mixture if you want. After your first layer dries add another layer. Sometimes I add a few layers to mine. You don't have to but I like mine to have a thick coating. I also always let it dry or become a lil tacky before adding another layer to it....

Now you can add a prim label to it if you want or you could just leave it like it is. There are a few people who sell the labels on Ebay,Blogger (Blue Cupboard Primitives) and Etsy. I am working on making my own but for this project I am using one a blogger pal Natalie of Blue Cupboard Primitives sent me over the weekend. To adhere it just brush on some Modge Podge to the back and adhere it to your project. I also put a lil of the grunging mix around the edges of the label.

Here's the finished project.....

I decided to add some homespun tied with jute string to the top...

Notice how dark it dried.I hope this gets yer crafty mojo movin' lol........and if you have any ?'s feel free to ask away !

Here's another item I grungied up.

This was a small reed diffuser bottle I bought at the dollar tree. It now has a feather and sits atop my slanted lap desk as an old looking ink bottle.

Have fun tryin' this out ! I'd love to see your projects using this tutorial so I hope you'll share. I also forgot to mention above that I use the cans that have lids you pull off. They dont have rough edges like a can opener leaves. If you use ones that you open with can openers maybe sand them ? Just be careful of the rough edges !

There are lotsa' other helpful tutorials on the forum and more to be added so hop on over and check us out ! We have been havin' the most fun on Wed. night live chat ! I've not laughed as hard as I do there in forever ! We loose track of time and end up with tummy aches from all the gigglin'. Hubbs got me this awesome Herb dryin' rack for one of my

Mother's Day gifts....I just love it !

Here's a close up pic of the wood.

He also got me this awesome old barn door....

My hopes were to use it as our bathroom door. The measurements

are a little off so we're hopin' to figure out a way to make it work..

I want to make the bathroom look like an outhouse lol.... I found this old bowl at the flea market in Martinsville for 5 bucks ! It has a small hairline crack but other than that it's in great shape. Couldn't believe it was that cheap !

I've tweaked my hutch and moved the begining of my crock collection in there.....

Darn ! I've ran outta time lol....Gotta' head to work bummer !

Hopefully I will get another post up to share some more stuff sooner than the last time ! Hope y'all have a wonderful day !

Absense makes the heart grow fonder...A GREAT Giveaway & Ramblins

And it really does grow fonder ! Wow I can't believe it's been such a long absense from bloggin' again ! I have sure missed readin' y'alls blogs and keepin' up with how everyone is and whatcha' been up to ! I'm makin' a promise to myself to at least post once a week and catch up on how y'all are doin' ! I sure hope this post finds y'all in GREAT Spirits and that your enjoyin' your weekend ! We sure had some major storms come thru our area last night. Woke to lotsa' limbs and branches on the roof and thankfully no damage that we have seen so far. Here is pic of one of the numerous limbs Hubbs had to clean off the roof this mornin'.......

A few years ago we had some what we believe were straight line winds come thru and knock a tree down on our home ( I'll hafta see if I can find pics to share) and it did some major damage. Myself, the kids and my cousin Kevin were just sittin' in the dining room watchin' the lightnin' show and amazed by how the trees were bendin' with the wind, when all of a sudden there was this loud boom and the walls were shakin' and things were fallin' from the walls and breakin' all over the floor. My first instinct was for us to head to the bathroom as I wasn't sure if it was a tornado or what was happenin' ! Fred ( my Hubbs ) was just drivin' up the road and called and said uhhhh Honey you realize there is a huge tree on the house ? We had cracks runnin' down a few of the walls. It destroyed part of the roof and smashed our gas grill. We're really lucky it didn't break the patio doors or the bay window. It took several weeks of work to get everything fixed and back to normal. So now everytime we have severe weather rollin' in, I tend to get a lil nervous. I swear the ground is never gonna dry up a lil around here so that I can get out there and get some gardenin' done ! We haven't even tilled my veggie garden spot yet 'cause it's just too wet to do it. Will get some pics to share when we get it goin' =0)

How true that our wonderful Saviour paid it all ! Please say a lil
prayer that our family find a new place to attend church. We have been searchin' for a welcomin' place to worship but feel we just haven't found the right place yet. I know it's out there somewhere and I know God will lead us to it ! I really miss the fellowship.

Hubbs went mushroom huntin' and found a few. Wish it woulda' been a lil more but glad he found what he did.
This was the biggest one he found.

Anybody else had any luck findin' any ? I loveeee mushrooms. I remember as a kid goin' mushroom huntin' with my Daddy. Seems like I found more back then, than I do now. Hmmmm maybe it was cause I was shorter and closer to the ground to spot 'em ? lol Of course back then I wasn't sooo afraid a stumblin on those....... eeekkkkk well y'all know what I'm thinkin' right ?!?!? Mushrooms are sellin' for 35 bucks a pound here locally ! Everyone is sayin' they are havin' a hard time findin' 'em. I love 'em but can't fathom payin' that much for 'em ! So if we don't find anymore then I guess we'll just hafta' wait till next year =(

I shared this over at PP but want to share it here with y'all too. I am just soooo darn tootin' excited to introduce y'all to my Hubbs and oldest son Josh's new toy they brought home. I have kindly named her....yes boys she is a she lol ! Anyway her name is Scarlett heehee
Now the fellas aren't to keen on the name ( sorry boys majority rules heeheehee) I can't wait to cruise 'er around this summer. It's gonna be sooooo much fun ! if any of y'all are ever in my neck a the woods ....swing on by and I'll take ya' for a ride ;0) Ohhh I guess I oughta show a pic huh ?!
Without further ado....meet Ms Scarlett the speed buggy.....

I cannot wait to feel the wind blowin' thru my hair and as Holli said on PP...I need to throw on some Marilyn Monroe sunglasses and take 'er for a spin lol.... I really can't wait ! Her hood needs a lil paint attention and we want to find her some perty black seats. And I'm sure we'll think of a few other things the ol' gal needs to have to spruce 'er up a lil lol.....This is a great family project for us to all do together. At first I was thinkin' there goes my prim step back cupboard I was gonna try and buy but now I'm pea pickin' happy with Scarlett as an addition to the family heeheehee......

Speakin' of that primtastic cupboard.... I had found one I fell in love with at another antique/flea market in Columbus, Indiana. Girlies this one has over 900 booths ! It was soooooo huge that even I ....yes I felt a lil overwhelmed !!! And y'all that know me know I don't get like that when it comes to antique/flea market or prim stores. It is soooo big that they have rest lounges scattered out for you to be able to stop and take a break and even get a snack or a drink while restin' ! They also had phones that you could pick up and a worker would come and get your things and take them up front to the check out area so you didn't hafta' tote 'em around. We didn't make it thru the whole place. It woulda' took several hours just to see everything and we just didn't know it'd take that long when we decided to go over and check it out. Next time we go we'll figure on spendin' a few hours to gawk and shop lol... I forgot to get pics in there cause like I said I was dazed and in awe lolol.....I did find a few goodies there......Like this crock jug for 11 bucks....

I've really gotten into collectin' crocks. Now I'd love to add some salt glazed to my collection ! Maybe someday I'll find one within my budget range or I'll hit the lottery lol...... Hubbs just shakes his head and says " Just whatcha' need another thing to collect " Well now it could be worse Honey it could be clothes that take up all his closet space ! Right girlies ? Heehee..... Well I 'spose I've rambled on long enough and I oughta' be gettin' some things done round here so I can spend a lil time either late tonight or tomorrow catchin' up on blog readin' *wink* and maybe even get in a lil craftin' time. Wow how does time pass by soooo quickly ?!? Seems like just a few days ago I posted last...not weeks ago ! I have sooo many things I wanna share with y'all. First and foremost I want to say that my Daddy is still doing well. And that is thanks to the many prayers from loving people like y'all.
My camera was broken but I have a new one finally so I can take some pics to share with ya's.....(which I have done lol)

I have to share this wonderful Prim store we stumbled on in Mitchell, Indiana called This And That Antiques. The owner Vicki is just one of the sweetest gals I have ever met ! She and her husband treated us all as if we were old friends instead of just another customer walkin' thru the door. And it just soooo happens that Vicki also has a blog and a picture trail as well.

Sharin' A Few Finds~ New barn I found~ And Ramblins Too...

Hi y'all I hope this post finds everyone in

GREAT Spirits....

I wanted to say Thank You to every one of you

for your prayers for my Dad ! They are very much appreciated

as I know the power of prayer can sure work miracles.

Dad is a little better today. His lips aren't as blue as they

were over the last 2 weeks and his breathing sounds

much better too. Thanks again for your kindness and for

being there for me when I was feeling so down.

Now onto a few finds I have to share....

Found this ol' box at a new antique mall that just opened

up right up the street from my Hubbs job. So of course

Dad, Kenz, Linny and I had to go check it out a couple

of weeks ago. I thought about maybe tryin' ta' rent

a booth there too. It's really a nice clean organized place.

Ooopps I'm loosin' track here lol....Here's the pic...

Ohhh well LOOKIE here lol.....Scooter kept

gettin' in my way everytime I tried to take a pic.

Then of course Tinkie just had to get in the way too lol

You know what they say though 3rd x's the charm ;)

It's 31and a half inches long by 7 and a half inches wide.

It was only 12 bucks so I had to snag it right up !

I thought maybe I'd put my magazines and remote controls

in it till I figure out somethin' different to put in it.

Any ideas ??? I thought about maybe makin' some

fabric sunflowers and maybe a few other different

fabric flowers and putting in it and set it in my bay window.

Watcha' think ??? Or if ya' have a different idea I'd

love to read whatcha' think ;0)

I also found this wool blanket I'd like to cut up and use for

maybe a few penny rugs base and I wanna make a runner

for my table too. The color would be a great base for some

prim flags too. It's in perfect shape and was only 10 bucks !

It's 5 feet long by 3 feet 3 inches wide. A good bargain

for wool. I can't wait to start some projects with it soon.

On our way to the Oolitic Antique mall we ran across a

yard sale that took us down some country roads I'd never been

down before and we ran across this ol' barn.....

I lovvveeee ol' barns ! I love to take leisure drives

just to look at 'em and snap a few pics of 'em too.

I also did some wall tweaking....

I need to put somethin' above the candle sconce

between the shelf and cabinet.

Welp I best get goin' to get my laundry finished up

cause it's back to work tomorrow. Ohhhh speakin'

of work....they've decided to re~open the store

on Mondays begining April 12th !!! So that means

my job is secure again for now whewwww.

I sure didn't wanna hafta' look for another one

cause I have really decent benifits now and I'd be

lucky to find another with benifits like I have now.

So that's a lil stress of my shoulders now.

Hope to post again later in the week. I'm thinkin'

I may have a lil tutorial to show y'all how to make

an easter centerpiece if I have time to get it finished.

Long time no post...Pics of my estate sale finds.....

Hi y'all =) I sure hope this post finds you in GREAT spirits ! I sure didn't realize it's been sooooooo long since I've posted ! I've seemed to have a full plate lately. My Dad was hospitalized overnight a week ago with breathing problems. We're hoping and praying it is not his cancer returning and it was just his emphesyma.He has been in remission for a longggg time now. The Dr suggested doing a new ct scan but he doesn't want to be retested to see and he says he won't do chemo again either. At first I was really upset about his decision but thinking about what he went through before I guess I can see why he doesn't want to do it again but part of me wishes he would change his mind ! Work has been hectic lately too. I worked a 13 hour shift on Tuesday ugghhh and it seems like I can't ever get outta there on time anymore. We did get some news that I believe means we won't be closing in May. They are finally installing a debit/credit machine and considering opening us back up on Mondays. I'm sure thankful for that cause I don't wanna look for a new job and start all over again.....heck I'm not getting any younger here lol........Well enough about all that. I sure have missed bloggin' and readin' all my fav blogs. I'm gonna have ALOTTA' catchin' up to do ! I wanna' share a few pics of an old sewin' machine I found at a estate sale last weekend. Yepp the weather has been sooooo nice out there were yard sales here !!!!! Yipppeeeee I was sooo excited to see the ads in the paper and lucky that it was my Sat. off whew. I'd have probably taken a personal day if it wasn't my day off lol

Here's a few pics of my fav find yet. Ohhh and when I asked the fella' how much it was, I figured he'd shoot off some crazy price but when he said 25 bucks I had to snag it up ! O.k. O.k. now the pics lol...........

I cleaned it up but there is some spots

that won't come off.

Mornin' Ya'll =0) New Bingo Words ~N~ A Few Finds To Share

Hi ya'll Hope this post finds ya'll in GREAT spirits !!! Well really since it's almost 1 a.m. lol I hope this post finds ya all snuggly warm in bed hehehe.....Wow has the weather ever been fantastic here ! The last few days have been in the 60's and even the 70's one day. Sure wish I'da had a few days off to enjoy it and not be stuck inside ! And of course this was a busy week and I really didn't get a chance to even step outside for a bit very much.

Oh well it'll be warm and nice out soon.

Tonight after work I ran to GW to see if they had any goodies and I saw a lady with this fantastic Prim candle holder styled box. She was lookin' it over and flippin' it this way and that way lol and the whole time I was thinkin' Ooooohhhh please put that down lol cause I realllllyyyyyy want it !!!!! And lo and behold she sat it down and girlies ( n fellas ) lemme' tell ya' I didn't give anyone else a chance to grab it !!!! lol It needs a paint job but other than that I just lovvveee it !!!! Here's a pic of my new find.

Aint it beautiful ???? I'm not sure what I'm gonna put in it yet....Any ideas ??? I kinda see some candles and some kinda fabric piece maybe....I'll just hafta' see what I got.... I also got these at GW too.

There missing an ear piece but I love 'em anyway. I'd love to have a desk to set 'em on. Ohhhh that reminds me lookie what's at the auction Friday night.....I just may have to go (time permiting!)

They also have an awesome mantle I'd love to have ! But can't ya' just see the potential in that desk ??? Hopefully I can go

I did some more tweakin' today and took a few pics to share with ya'll.....

I decided to put my cuttin' boards in an old cheese box and some old wooden bowls in another. I base painted the bowls today and hope to get 'em finished up this week sometime.

These are some things I picked up at the Prim shop that was closing....

I took the heart and spindles and put 'em in the lil wood pantry box and put it on my shaker peg candle holder....

I added a lil flicker stick candle to it too but forgot

to get a new pic of it.....

O.K. I've kept ya'll in suspense long enough lol......

55 Degrees and Tweaking

Wow Girlies ( n fellas ) I hope this post finds ya'll enjoyin' a lil Spring like weather !!!! It's 55 here and I'm loving it !!! I decided to do a lil tweakin' today and do some base paintin' since it's soooo nice outside. Hubbs took my car and forgot to leave me keys to his dually truck ( he musta forgot to plug it in again lol...it's a diesel ) So I'm stuck at home which is a good thing cause I can get some projects goin' ! I haven't forgotten the Mystery Giveaway =0) Jess wants to draw the name so he'll be doin' that when he gets home tonight. Good luck ya'll !!!!! I got everyones names written down, includin' your extra entries and cut into slips and all in a bowl ready for the pickin' !!!! Can't wait to see who wins !!!! Hi ya'll I hope this post finds ya'll in GREAT spirits ! I've had another wonderful day. Linds and I went to the Prim store that was closin' their doors and holy moly that place was a madhouse !!! Everything was 40% off and lots of the better goodies were all ready gone by the time we got there. I got a few new prim towels for the kitchen and a few odds n ends. Shoot ya'll shoulda' seen all the cupboards and shelves marked sold =( Anyway yesterday was Stephies's Dads B~Day so my family was invited to the party. I was soooo surprised when we got there ....the party was also for me !!!!

I haven't had a B~Day party in sooooo long I honestly can't remember when the last one was ! Then I felt silly cause I broke down and cried lol.....I was sooo touched ! Stephie took her allowance money and bought me the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers in a vase. (see pic below) and Lydia, Lil Jason and Lil Josh got me ballons. Hubbs bought me a rocker and had it hid at Alisha and Matt's house. Girlies I was just sooooo surprised !!!!

spelled out my name and Matts.

and the kids and they also got me the light below...

She also got me the cutest God Mother card and

Alisha got me a Happy B~Day Mother card that just

broke me out in tears again !!!! I raised Alisha (Steph's Mommy)

from the time she was 6 till she was 14. Longggg story....

anyway I was a babblin' bag of emotions last night lol

I've had THE BEST B~day weekend ever !!!!! Thanks

Hi Ya'll !!!! I hope this post finds ya'll in Wonderful Spirits !

My Ohhhhh My What A Wonderful Day !

The weather was spectacular...The sun was shining....And I was with 2 of my most fav. Peeps in the whole wide world ! It was a perfect girls day out. Girlies (and fellas IF your readin' ) we found some of the MOST wonderful (new to us) places to shop !!!! Ohhh lordy how I wish I woulda took more money with me !!! But I was a good girlie and only took a certain amount so I wouldn't over spend....which I've been known to do a time or two *wink* Ohhh did I just admit that ?!?!?!?! Hunny if you read this that was the ambien talkin' !!!! Hehehehehe.......Anyways wow I hope ya'll are ready for a pic filled post ! Cause I have lotsa things to share !

We left around 11:00. Kinda' a late start 'cause we got an unexpected visit and they wanted to visit and chat a bit. I didn't wanna be rude or hasty BUT (lol) I was so darn hyped to get on the road ! We finally got outta' here wheww and off to pick up Linds...

Just look at that smile on her face lol she was just as ready

as we were to get outta' town and shop for some goodies ;0)

I just love Her and my son Josh's new home. This is the first time they have been out on their own and they were smart and bought instead of rentin' I'm sooo proud of 'em ! They hope to someday trade in for a modular or by land and build their own home in the country. Linds & Josh I truly am PROUD of you two !!!

Anyway lol I'm gettin' off track ;0)

We finally got to hit the open road

With GREAT conversation about all the goodies we hoped to find....It didn't seem like no time and we were at the HUGEEE

Inside Flea Market.... Wow was I impressed ! Goodies galore !

But I got some inside pics....

It didn't take us long to dive on in and look for some things we couldn't live without lol....Look at Linds hehehehe

With aisles and aisles of booths it was a shoppers dream !!!

That white cabinet there was priced for only 15 bucks !!!!!

Now I wish I woulda' bought it but I wasn't sure if I had a

spot for it sooo I didn't purchase it......

Another shot....There were rows and rows of booths here...I asked permission to take pics and they said as long as the booth didn't have a sign sayin' NO PICS then it was o.k. This place had some fantastic stuff I tell ya' and some really GREAT prices !

I love things made from old barn wood and almost bought

at a prim shop we found while in Martinsville....

Lotsa' walkin' and Lotsa' Shoppin' and she still has a smile lol...

They had this HUGE scratch and dent area and gosh WHY DIDN'T I BRING MORE $$$$ ?!?!?!?! lol...That's my Daughter MaKenzie in the jeans and black jacket....I tried to get a pic of her all day lol BUT she's like me and doesn't like her pic taken much, so I didn't get any good pics of her today =( Anyway in this area they had these wonderful chairs (below) All 4 for 45 bucks ! I love the fabric...

More Prim goodies......

I was honestly amazed at how many booths had

Prim goodies there. I will defenitely be going back !

Then we rounded an aisle and what to my wonderin' eyes did I see ?

Ohhhhh my is that really one of those things I've been wantin' forever ?!?!?!?! And why didn't I bring more $$$ ????? lol

Yes it was a lovely primtastic Dry Sink !!!!!! Ohhhhh

how I wanted it ! It was a lil outta' my budget but a pretty

good deal for 75 bucks considerin' most of them I've seen

have averaged around 100 to 150 plus ! Gosh I want it !!!

Honey my B~day is Sunday *wink wink* lol......

Isn't it primtastic in all it's mustard glory ?????

I coulda' got it but I wouldn't have had much left

to spend at any other place we stopped and Kenz and I

woulda' had to resort to sharin' a pack a peanuts for lunch lol !

We ended up with some GREAT stuff from the Flea Market....

So we decided to head on into Martinsvilles town square.

On the way there ohhhh my did that sign say yard sale ????

Why by golly it did !!! So we did a pit stop 'cause my car has

auto pilot for yard sales lol.....And wow did we meet the nicest

fella who had one of the most coolest back yards....Heck

his whole home was awesome ! Now mind you his home was smack dab in the middle of town too but had such a country feel to it.

He was kind enough to let me take pics of his back yard ! I want hubby to build me a cute lil shed like the one pictured below.

I'll take one a these while we're at it lol.....

This fella' was so kind that he said I could bring

Hubbs up anytime to check out his yard and he'd be glad to

give us pointers on how he built his out buildings...I thougt

that was soooo sweet to offer that to someone he doesn't

even know ! He had some great prices on his yard sale

items as well and some of the things he had were

prim items too !!! Wish we woulda' gotten there

earlier in the day to see all the goodies !!!!!!

So from there we found this lil shop called Queen Annes Lace

This place had some Primtastic things but most were outta' my

price range.....Check out the makedo chair they had below.....

Loveeeeee it !!!!! But at 129.00 dollars I think I'll try

and make my own someday........

I love the old feel and look of their town square....

I felt like we stepped back in time and was visitin' Mayberry...

We found a few prim shops on the square and we felt like

we were in Prim Heaven !!!! The first shop didn't allow pics at

all. They didn't even want me to take one of the outside =(

They had some really cute prim stuff there. She gave me a

card but I can't find it darn it ! The next shop.....well

I gotta' say it was even better than the first ! It was filled with

Handmade Prims, antiques and a few things from like

Honey and Me and things like that. The owner was a real sweetie.

I talked to her about ya'll lol. She had never heard about Blogger.

So I wrote down my blog addy and told her she should think

of joinin the bloggin' world hehehehe.....

If your ever down this way ya' gotta' check her shop out !

Just a fantastic place filled with all kinds of wonderful goodies...

I've got pics of some of the goodies we got but I started this post at a lil after midnight and the pics are loadin' slowwwww

so I'll share more tomorrow..... After our day of shoppin' we stopped at KFC and ate the buffet bar mmmmmm I probably ate wayyyyy to much ! But it sure was yummy ! Then we headed home and unpacked our goodies and headed to Bingo. I got to play

for free for my B~Day But I didn't win a thing !!!! We were 2 #'s away from the 1000.00 dollar game grrrrrrrr and I got what they

call monitor shot. Which is when your # you need to bingo is in the t.v. monitor but someone calls bingo on the last # called =(

Hi Ya'll......Hope this post finds ya in Great Spirits !!!!!

I said in my last post I'd be back at midnight .....sorry I'm a lil late !

I was up till 4:30 this mornin' workin' on an order. What could go wrong DID go wrong lol. I couldn't find where I had stashed my tickin' fabric. Could have sworn it was in my fabric bin ! Then my sewin' machine decided to give me fits.....I kept gettin' a thread jam and an F6 error....Hubbs is my sewing machine mechanic lol Soooooo since he was asleep I had to figure it out myself ! Took me forever to figure it out too !!!!! To be exact it was around 2 a.m. lol I was to the point to where I was just about to go wake Hubbs up !

When I though doh'.........CHANGE the BOBBIN ! lol and whewww that fixed it ! I had changed the needle, blew out the bobbin area thinkin' maybe a dust bunny had maybe took up residence somewhere. Then I membered havin' this problem before and Hubbs, being the fix it all wonder that he is, changed my bobbin and everything was just dandy. Oh what I wouldn't do to have my memory as sharp as it used ta' be ;0) Well, late night lack of sleep could be a factor in that lack of memory lol.....Anyway I was soooo dang happy to have it workin' again ! By then I was drained. I had to be up by 9:00 and to work by 10:30 so it was a longgggg day today. And ya'd think my patootie would be headin' to bed now lol.

I have a few pics to share tonight.....

Stopped at GW last night on my way home and found this beauty..

I swear my makeover list is gettin' longgggggerrrrrr ! I can't wait for nice weather to get started on my projects....Anyway not sure what color i'll paint this yet. And the wreathe will be coming off.

That was the only thing I found worth bringin' home there....

So I decided to stop by the Prim Cellar and I found this to bring home =0)

I feel in love with it and just had to get it !

Hmmmm did I buy 2 of these ???? Or could this be an item in the mystery box ?!?!?!? That's for me to know and ya'll to wait and see hehehehe.........

Then when I got home my package from Christine was waiting for me. What an awesome end to my day !!!!!!!! I gently tore the package open ( o.k. I really wasn't that gentle lol ) and wow they were even more Primtastic in person I tell ya' !!!!

I got 'em all put up and proudly displayed in a chew free zone !

I added a lil Easter pick and need to pick up some greenery or somethin' to add to the top of the wood box, but I just loveeeeeee

my goodies !!!!!!! Thank you soooooooo much Christine they truly are fantastic !!!!!! Ohhhh she also included this lovely postcard....

Minus the flash there lol Loveee the postcard ! Again a BIG HEART FELT Thank you Christine !!!!!!

This is the lil culprit that helped keep me up till the wee hours of the mornin' ! At that point I still hadn't even finished the stitchery pillow that went with her. I forgot to get a pic of her all done.

The lady who ordered her for her daughter just loved her. I have another one to do for her now too. She wants one for her other daughter. Yipppeeeeee =0)

I am soooo darn tootin' EXCITED !!!! I am OFF for the next 4 days !!!! Yes "4" days !!!!! And it's not even for a snow day ! lol

I am off every other weekend which is Sat, Sun, Mon but we get an extra day off for your B~Day soooo I chose to be off Friday wooot woooot !!!!! So tomorrow Me, Kenzie and Linds are havin' a girls day out. We are headin' to a town called Martinsville which is about 35 minutes from where I live. They have a HUGE inside flea market there and we are goin' ta' go up and check it out. We also heard there are a few Prim stores there too, so we are gonna' see if we can find them while we're there. We'll probably throw lunch in there somewhere too if we have time between lookin' for goodies.

This time imma' member my camera so I can get pics to share with ya'll ! I hope we find lotsa' goodies at really good prices lol....

K I'm off to lala land ya'll I'm a lil tuckered out and gotta' get up early to get a head start on our outin'......

I really oughta' be in bed by now cause this mornin' Hubbs woke me up at 5:00 and I decided to snooze just a wee bit longer and

uh oh ....Girlies I didn't wakie wakie till 7:00 !!!!!!

I am supposed to be at work at 7:30 on Tuesdays !

Well ya'll I set a record gettin' dressed I tell ya' !!!

I grabbed my makeup bag and curlin' iron and hit the door at 6 minutes after 7 lol.......I made it to work and clocked in with 3 minutes to spare ! whewwwww Thank goodness no one is there till 8 cause i'd have scared the crap outta' 'em with my bed head hair and no makeup look hehehehe.......5 minutes puttin on makeup and another 3 curlin' my hair and I was good to go. Speakin' of pay it forward my best friend Shirl was at Burger King orderin' dinner and she went to pay and the cashier at the drive through window said.....You don't owe anything....Shirl said But I haven't paid you yet ! The cashier said I know.....the car that just pulled off paid for your food because they wanted to pay it forward ! If only more people paid it forward could you imagine how much better our world would be ?

I took this tonight. Linds and Josh came out and my son Justin cooked us french toast for dinner mmmmmm it was GREAT !

Linds did a bit of sewin' and we chatted forever about weddin' stuff.

I found some awesome invitations at GW for $1.99 for a box of 50. I got 2 boxes. I think Linds is gonna post a pic since she has a laptop charger again. And I also got to talk to a wonderful Blogger Friend.....Debbie from Goat Creek......What a sweetie she is ! If you've not been to Debbies site be sure and stop by and say hello and check out her sellin' blog too ! She makes some beautiful stuff !

Picture this..............Chances for Xtra Entries For My Mystery Giveaway !!!

It's around 4:00 a.m. in the mornin'. You wake from a deep slumber because you have to go potty......Your in the bathroom with your jammies down and you've just sat down to potty ~ when outta the corner of your eye you see somethin' by the bathtub.......You look and low and behold it's one of those things you are deathly terrified of !!!!!!! It's a .......................... snake !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you do ? Well.........I stood on the potty with my jammies around my ankles and screamed and screamed as I watched the thing slitherin' round the floor.....Now this wasn't an itty bitty one either....It was at

least 2 foot long and how in the world did I walk past that thing when I went in the bathroom was beyond me ! Well I'm still yellin' and cryin' and finally one of the kids wakes up and screams what's wrong and I said helloooooooo Snakeeeeeeeeee Get your Dad !!!!! At this point I've lost track of time, I'm feelin' queasy, shakin' and wishin' my hero would come rescue me FAST !!!!! The snake is slitherin' towards the potty and I'm lettin' out louder yelps lol.......Finally the Hubbs comes in and says What do you want me to do ? Duhhhhhh get the nasty snakeeeeeeeee outta here !!!! So he says with what ? I'm like I don't care what just get it !!!!!! He tells me ~ just jump over it and get outta here......Now girlies let me remind you I'm standing on top of the potty with my jammies down round my ankles and he wants me to jump ???? And what if that thing gets me before I get out the door ???? Well when your in a panic your brain just doesn't think well ! Hubbs calmly says pull your jammies UP and JUMP !!!! It's behind the potty now......So I get my courage up and I pull 'em up and I jump like Michael Jordan doin' a slam dunk !!!!! I ran soooo fast outta' that bathroom and down the hallway I coulda' set a world record I tell ya' ! Hubbs got it out and that wasn't the end of the snakes in the house =0( About 2 weeks later during the day I went to use the rest room....let me back up a sec' I didn't go to the bathroom forever without someone checkin' it first.....Well it had been fine so I decide I'm a big girl I can do this. So I go alone I slowly open the door ~ floor looks clear. I see nothin' behind the potty, o.k. it's good I can go. I lift the potty lid and........................ OH MY GOSH !!!!!!! YEPP There's one IN THE POTTY !!!!! Hubbs is outside I go screamin' for him and he's like NOT AGAIN lol I said yepp IN THE POTTY !!!!! He goes in and it's dead and he get's it out. Then one mornin' I get up and Hubbs is standin' in the hallway lookin' in the laundry room and I said why are you just standin' there like that ? He says You might wanna' go on back to the bedroom.....I say why ? He says there is about a 6 foot black snake in there !!!!!!!!!! Well you don't have to tell me twice !!!! So he gets that one out....Thank God he isn't afraid of 'em ! We'd be outta' luck for sure. This story is leadin somewhere I promise lol......... Now my daughter isn't afraid of 'em either but that snake in the laundry room freaked her out cause it was HUGE ! Well we go to Menards cause I'm sealin' any nook and cranny in this house ! We buy a case of that fill and seal stuff and go to work. Weeks went by and things seemed to be gettin' back to normal. When my oldest son Josh woke up one mornin' he comes and gets his Dad and I see 'em talkin' in hushed tones. I'm wonderin' what's up ? So I ask and they say you don't wanna know. Well I instantly knew ! Yepp more snakes !!!!! And yes it was not one but a nest !

Josh found baby snakes on his bedroom floor. They were copperheads ! A week before that my baby Maggie Moo Moo outta the blue came crawling on her side and she was seizing and within 3 minutes she passed away. I had just had time to grab the phone to call the vet and she was gone. We believe that she was bitten by one of the snakes. We packed up the fur babies and clothing and headed to my cousins house. We stayed there for almost a month. I wouldn't set foot in here till I knew we had fixed EVERYTHING to where they wouldn't get in again. We replaced Josh's floor. We redid part of the roof. Hubbs trimmed limbs away incase they were gettin' in that way. We bought more fill and sill and they filled around anything and everything ! That was last year and a few nights ago I was lookin' up at the vent in our bedroom cause I saw somethin' hangin' there so I go get Hubbs and he says Now DON'T panic it was just a piece of snake skin....DON'T PANIC ?!?!?!?!?!

O.k. sureeee I won't panic lol We are movin' the bed cause the vent is on my side !!!! Sooooo as much as I'm ready for spring I'm dreadin' it too ! Hoping everything we did last year fixed it where there won't be anymore surprises ! I don't think my lil ol' heart could take another summer like that ! I have a terrible phobia of snakes. I can't see 'em on t.v. I can't see pics of 'em they just petrify me.....

Now that whole story was leadin to this.........

Hi ya'll =0) Hope this post finds ya' in GREAT Spirits !

I'm sure doin' much better. I was down in my back for a few days. Work really kicked my patootie and for a couple days I could barely even get outta bed. Thank goodness for the heatin' pad, massage mat and the meds that finally made it bearable come Saturday mornin'. I was going stir crazy ! I'll NOT be liftin' like that at work ever again ! I have an appt. at 11:00 today with my pain specialist so hopin' we can discuss some options for my protruding disc problem. ( Ran outta' time to post this before I had to leave....The Dr is sendin' me for another M.R.I. and physical therapy..... I've done therapy a gazillion times and it didn't help soooooo hopefully this time it'll do somethin' ?!?!?! )

Anyway on to happier notes ;0)

Lindsey, MaKenzie and I got out to go thriftin' and junkin' for a bit on Saturday. We found some new places to hit over in Spencer. One of them is a drug store but wow it's stocked full of Primtastic stuff ! Lindsey with her trained eye spotted it ( I've taught her well lol ) I forgot my camera or I'd have snapped some pics ! Lindsey had hers but I can't remember if we took any pics there. Anyway they had all kinds of goodies. I was simply amazed. We'll be goin' back there again for sure ! I think we got a few shots of our excursions with Lindsey's cam but her batteries went dead so maybe she'll share a few when she gets batteries. We also went to an antique store that was just full of amazing stuff there too ! Ohhh my they had some primtastic cupboards and dry sinks, crocks and cabinets. I was nearly droolin' !!!! I spotted a crock I'm debatin' on goin' back to purchase. We had a pretty good day and it was nice to get outta' the house for a bit ! The weather was wonderful. So glad we didn't get the snow and freezing rain they had been talkin' about!

I even put up all my winter decor on Sunday and started breakin' out Spring stuff. Still have some major tweakin' to do but I didn't wanna overdo it and get my back a hurtin' again !

Here's a few random pics of my livin' room......

This is a shot from the hallway.... I love the entertainment center but..........ya' there's usually always a but huh ? lol.....It takes up toooo much wall space ! I'd love to get somethin' smaller maybe someday. The livin' room is not that big to begin with because of the stone wall and our woodstove. You have to watch how ya' place things and make sure they aren't to close to the woodstove. We took it out one season and wow our electric bill really went through the roof !!!!!! Our home was originally a 2 room house from the late 1800's early 1900's till the owners before the ones we bought from built on an addition over 60 yrs ago and then the owners we bought it from did another addition in the 90's. In Jess's room we tore out a wall and found part of the original chimney still standing. One of our neighbors who is in his early 80's has pics of the original 2 room house that part of his family lived in. He is my one of my best friends Grandpa. It's neat to learn the history of your home. We are the 3rd family to live here. We've slowly been fixin' things but ( ya' that but word again lol) it's a work in progress. Someday I hope to have it all done !!!

As you can see in this pic it needs some major tweakin' ! I'd like to add more simpler pieces. More on the antique side or even reproduction. After paintin' I was happy to just get things back up on the wall ! If I can get some better whole pics I'd love some ideas on furniture placement if ya'll have any you'd like to suggest =0) When I take vacation time this year I know what I'll be doin' ! Major declutterin' and organizin' and gettin' things how I want 'em. I keep the furniture covered 'cause I'm afraid the dogs may scratch it with their nails. Would like to find somethin' a lil more on the prim side to cover it with though......... Speakin' of fur babies.......

They all wanted to say Hi !!! From the front is Lovie ~ Then Scooter ~ Tinker Belle layin' down ~ Then Ms. Cocoa Channel ~

and Ms. Daisy Mae.........Now one of these sweet innocent lookin' furballs has been gettin' into my things and chewin' 'em up like there's no tomorrow !!! Hubbs got home one afternoon last week and calls me at work to tell me they had gotten ahold of a few of my dolls or somethin' and there was stufin' EVERYWHERE !!!!! Well they just happened to be 2 rabbits and 2 dolls I had made over the weekend for an order !!! =0( Soooooo I had to start allllllllllllllllll over on it.....

I started puttin' things up higher so they can't get to it. I don't know why the lil turkeys decided to have some "rip shreddin" fun ! Hubbs says they gotta goooooo and I said they are part of the family ! We've had them all except Daisy since they were born and Daisy was 4 months old when we got her. Sooo I guess I'll be doin' some research on doggie trainin' and teach 'em NOT to tear things up. They usually don't do things like that so I don't know what made 'em decide to start. Any pointers on dog trainin' ? I even thought about obedience classes at Pet Smart but I don't think that'll teach which ever one it is NOT to be chewin' up my things. Ahhhhhh well..... I love 'em anyway.........although I DON'T like the chewin' !

This is one of the wood beams that is in the living room and there are also wood beams in the dining room and my lil craft nook area. I'd like to take down the old saw and hang up baskets and drieds. I found the buttocks basket on our excursion and wanted to see what it'd look like up there. I need to age it before it takes it's permanent place there.......

In this pic you can see part of the beams better and part of the stone wall that sits behind the woodstove..... I'd love to take the woodstove out and have a fireplace put in instead and the chandilier over the table.... I'd like to replace soon with an early light....like somethin' from the Irvin's catalog. Gee I need to hone my picture skills a bit better lol ! And is that dust I see above one of the beams ?!?!?! OOOPPPSSS sorry I'll get that taken care of as soon as I finish this post lol ! Isn't it funny how things you don't see well really show up in pics !!!! hehehehehe.......

This is somethin' a customer from work who ordered a doll and rabbits from me just made me !!! I just love it ! It's knitted using strips from bed sheets.....The colors she used made me think of Spring...

She said this will keep your feet warm on bare floors and I said I wouldn't dare put it on my floor with 3 fella's in this house lol ! So I'm usin' it as a runner on my coffe table. Here's a closer up pic of the colors.....

I just love the pale yellow and blues with a touch of white... This is somethin' I'll treasure for a long time to come ! I tried to pay her for it but she wouldn't take a dime from me. Thank you Joyce I really love it !!!!!!

Wow I always start my post thinkin' I'll keep it kinda short and look !!! My fingers have done typed a mini novel lol.... Sorry ya'll guess I just had a lot to ramble on about hehehehe..... I wanted to share a few projects I been workin' on.....

Well hopefully I didn't bore ya'll to tears with this longgggg winded post !!! BUT I gotta' share one more thing with ya'll.... Several posts back I had asked for prayers for something that would have affected our whole family in a NOT good way..... Well we just recieved good news this afternoon via a phone call !!!!! Everything is going to be a o.k. !!!!!! Prayer and faith sure does work !!!!! Thank ya'll sooooo much for includin' us in your prayers and thank you Jesus for listenin' and answerin' them !

That is such a burden lifted from our shoulders !

I can feel the stress leavin' and I can breathe a sigh of relief !

Soooo thanks ya'll again from the bottom of my lil ol' heart !

Snow n More Snow n A Suprise n Learnin' X Stitch

Hi ya'll I hope this post finds ya' in GREAT spirits =0}

Wow what a week here so far ! With all the lovely new snow on top of the snow we all ready had that hadn't even melted yet....School canceled the last 2 days and I was stuck at home today myself.

We got almost 9 inches here yesterday. It was a fairly heavy snow as you can see in the pic below.....

It has this poor Pine Tree weighted down....

And there sayin' maybe more this weekend.....Better keep them shovels out and ready !! (talkin' to you honey ;0})

Hubby was able to get out on Monday mornin' around 5 a.m. in my car before it got really bad only to be sent back home at 10:00 a.m. as the snow was really fallin' by then. So today we all had a snow day at home....Jess played xbox, Kenz talked on the phone (imagine that lol that girl was born with a phone attached to her ear !!!) and Hubbs helped me turn doll parts and while I did some stuffin' and sewin'. Back to work tomorrow though =( I'm just hopin' I don't walk into a mess.....The route drivers still ran so that means 2 days of returns plus what wasn't finished on Saturday to go through...ughhhhhhhh I'm pooped just thinkin' about it !!!

I did get a few dolls and some Easter bowl fillers all finished up and got 'em listed on my sellin' blog and I'm teachin' myself to x stitch.

This is the project I'm workin' on......

I messed up the red rows =( But when I got to the S I figured out what I was doin' wrong.....I think I'll just leave it as is though. Now that I'm gettin' the hang of it I'm likin' doin' it. Just what I need though somethin' else to add to my I like to make list lol......

Friday Finds N Finishes ~ Barn Pic ~ N More

Hi ya'll I'm takin' a quick break from craftin' to see how ya'll are doin' and I sure hope ya'll are doin' GREAT ! I got a few finds from today and a finished project and one that's almost done to share too.

I also want to say Thank You All who leave the most encouraging, kind and loving comments. They really brighten my day and put a smile on my face ! There's nothin' like comin' home from workin' all day to your sweet words to lift my spirits. This weekend is going to be kinda rough for me but not as much as past years (you'll read why below). Saturday marks the 17th year since my Mom passed away. I was only 21, had just had Jesse a month before and Mom was only 54. I've always had a hard time dealing with it emotionally. They say it gets easier with time but I didn't find that it did until this week and this is why.... Any of you who have followed my lil ol blog have seen the pics of the barn that posts messages on the front of it. Every so often they change the message. Well this week the message really hit home and gave me much comfort. It was as if God and my Mom were giving me a personal message. Of all the weeks to put this message up, they chose this week to do so. Why ? Because I feel that God does speak and comforts us in many different ways. Here is the message.......

God wanted me to know to not be sad. To celebrate the life my Mother led. To cherish my memories of her. Instead of cloistering myself in my room, shedding tears. I should and will be joyous in knowing that my Mom is in Heaven. She no longer suffers. She is no longer in pain. And she is there waiting for the day that we will be reunited. So yes someone is in Heaven waiting for me. I will continue my tradition of writing a letter to her. I've done this every year for the past 16 years. It helps me to put my thoughts in words.

And then I will make one of her fav dinners and we all will reminisce about our favorite memories of her. This anniversary will be a celebration not a day to morn our loss. But a celebration of God calling an angel home..........

I spent most of the day with my Pops. He had a checkup at his oncologist. And I'm exstatic to report that his Non Hodgkins Lymphoma is still in remission !!!!! Woooooot Woooooot....

This was the best news. So we celebrated by going to lunch and a few TS's and GW and they had a huge inside sale and flea market at our national guard armory. Wow did we get some good deals. I love crocks but most of the time they are outta my price range.....So when I spotted this one for 10 bucks well I had to have it !

It's a pretty good size. The only thing wrong with it is a few chips and a hairline crack down the back. The fella pointed all that out to me and I said I don't mind cause I think it gives it character !

Then I found this.....

Of course the ash tray is coming OUT lol and it will get a paint job.

Not a bad find for 4 bucks.....

Then I found this basket full of tapestry wool and needlepoint and crewel wool for 2 bucks.....

Found 2 of these cute lil firkins....

4 bucks for both. And that chair pad under the firkin was only a buck. Love the worn look of it....

So then we headed out to the TS's and GW......

Not much there but did find the things below....

99 cents =0) Love those kinda prices.....Will paint and age this up.

I thought these egg shaped bowls would be cute to do somethin' with for Easter. And they were 99 cents each.

I love coasters and found a few sets at 99 cents each.....

Hoping the tape doesn't rip this set when I take it off.....

Well after the TS's n GW we ran out to see if the bed I have been dreamin' of was still there. Went straight in to where it was and my lil ol' heart was just a pumpin' and..................noooooooooooo

it was gone =( I knew I shoulda just snagged it up when I first saw it. Poooooohhhhh Oh well that's the way it goes sometimes. Maybe I'll find another someday......

Well I did manage to finish up a few things this week.

I did a lil' scrappin' with this pic my Daughter, Alisha and I took several years ago in Brown County. I scanned the original in and printed out a smaller version of it.

That's MaKenzie on the left, Me in the center and Alisha on the right. Alisha is Stephie's mommy and my kids cousin.

The bank where I do the daily deposits for work were celebrating over 100 years of being in business. That's where I got the old lookin' money to use in the scrap page. The saloon doors were made out of a cardboard box and the title letters were cut out with my cricut machine. I like how it turned out lookin' old and vintage.

Then I worked on my prairie doll off and on after work and got her bonnet all finished and her dress done. Still need to make her apron and a flour sack for her to hold.....

Oh ya' got her arms finished too ;0)

I can't wait to get her all finished up ! Still need to tea stain her a lil bit more too...... I'm likin' the way she is turnin' out so far.

Well I best get goin'. I've got things to get finished up for my sellin' blog. I'm hoping to get them listed over there sometime this weekend. I work tomorrow and ohhhhh I just remembered it's inventory weekend again =0( uggghhhhhhh Hope our order didn't come in so I can count everything quickly after we close ! In my last post I mentioned a case of "The Wants"

I talked with Hubbs about gettin' that Early Hired Mans Bed and....

He says IF it's still there come Friday then I can get it =( I wanted to go yesterday and get it lol. But Hubbs says I gotta figure out where I'm gonna put it or store it first. So I been trying to talk Kenzie into lettin' me set it up in her room and so far it's a NO go =( She says she doesn't mind my Prim decoratin' BUT her room is off limits lol

Shucks ! I have a son Justin who is 21 still at home, my daughter MaKenzie who is 19 and Jess who just turned 17. Wonder which one is gonna fly the coop first ??? Then I'd have a free room {wink}

IF I get to buy the bed I will probably just store it for now. Ohhh just typin' about it makes me wanna rush right on out there and get it lol....Ya'll ever felt like that about somethin' ?

Sharin' A Few Finds~ A Case Of The Wants~ And Ramblins of course ;0)

My goodness my late night or should I say early mornin' postin' is becomin' a regular thing huh.Well at least it's not 5 a.m. this time ;0) I do hope this post finds ya'll all snuggly warm in yer beds lol

I did get to bed at about 6 this morn. and was back up and outta the house by 11:00 a.m. It was a mad dash throwing on the makeup and fixin' my rats nest....ohhh I mean hair ! And off to the Prim Shop to drop off some goodies. The lady who runs it was soooo sweet and understanding about me not being there at 10 She had assumed it was because of the weather. I sure felt bad though cause I didn't want to make a BAD impression by being late =( ! I told her with workin' everday this week I just didn't have time to finish everything up and had to pull an all nighter. She said Oh Honey you didn't need to do that. You coulda' just called and brought 'em in next week. She was real pleased with them. Whewwww......lol

After that my Future Daughter In Law Ms. Lindsey decided to take me out on an antiquing excursion. My oldest son Josh and her know the last few weeks have been a rough and tryin' time for me and Hubbs and the rest of the family, so she thought it'd be good to get me out and away for a bit since I've done tried a box or two of calgon and all that did was give me puckered skin....It never did "take me away" hehehehe......... So off we headed to an indoor flea market and girlies (and yepp fellas too if your readin' ;0) I gotta tell ya' I saw THE MOST FANTASTIC DEAL !!!! Oh and if I woulda' had a place for it.....well I woulda' snagged it right up ! Oh how I wish I woulda had my camera to get a pic for ya'll !!! It was the most primtastic Early Hired Man Primitive Bed and it was only $35.00 !!!! I'm sooooo tempted to go and get it and store it at my Dads house till one of the kids fly the coop lol. I thought for sure I read the price wrong cause ya' don't usually see such primitve items like that for such an affordable price. I've got a case of the "Wants"

and Ohhhhhh I realllyyyyyyy want it lol. Lindsey did get me a few "pick me up" things that I just loveeee .....but ohhhh I want that bed hehehehehe............Hmmmm they are open tomorrow !!! {wink}

I've got a weakness for chairs. This one is in wonderful shape.

I love the old worn areas and rusty nail heads. I think it looks perfect so no paintin' this one. I'm leavin' it just like it is.....

The seat is even in GREAT condition. It's real sturdy too. And this lovely chair was only $7.00 woooot woooot =)

And only $2.00 what a steal ! I love old kitchen things.....

This is another one of my weaknesses lol and $4.00 !!! This place has GREAT prices ! Some of it's even cheaper than Goodwill !

One side has this on it so I'm gonna remove it....

They are cute......but the paints chippin' in spots and it really doesn't go with my decor. So that'll be a project I'll probably do sometime today.

I did get this done today......I think I got a lil heavy handed with the aging on it though....

Hubbs got it rewired. I need to get bulbs and it can be hung up.

I like how it turned out but the kids said Mom....that looks pretty grungy, crusty....Crusty ????? lol ooooooo.kkkkkkk.

Oh and see that lil round bald spot ? That's Hubbs head hehehe... I gotta' show him that ! He claims he isn't going bald on top that he just has a receding hairline lmbo... I got PROOF hehehe....

Anyway back to the crusty comment lol.....I told the kids I was askin' the experts....that bein' ya'll in blog land. Do ya' think the finish looks "crusty" lol or old and antiquey ? Be honest it's o.k. I can take it ;0) We got a do the dishes aka load the dishwasher bet goin' Crusty I get to do it for a week....old n antiquey....they get ta' do 'em and I don't have to touch a dish for a week wooot woooot.

Ohhh my I better get ta' wrappin' this post up ! It's 4:30 all ready ! My how time flies when your visitin' old friends ;0)

I have one more thing to tell ya'll then I'm hittin' the haysack.

I started a sellin' blog. Yipppeeeee I had a few emails from people about handmade dolls so I decided to just go on ahead and make a sellin' blog. I'd been thinkin' about it for a long time anyways. I think clear back last year I mentioned somethin' about maybe doin' one so I'm gonna try my hand at it and see where it goes.

Hi Ya'll Hope this post finds ya'll in GREAT spirits !

I have pulled an all nighter trying to finish up some dolls for the Prim Shop. I was supposed to try and get 6 dolls done. 3 of the TFC pattern, 2 rabbits and a Raggedy Ann. I've been up since 5:30 a.m. Friday morning, worked all day. Thank goodness it was a slowwwww day. Everyone loaded up on bread the day before since the s-n-o-w word was in the forcast. Seein' how it's now 4:38 a.m. I might as well stay up. Slap happiness has hit a bit and bless my daughter MaKenzies heart she stayed up with me and kept me company while I was sewin' and prim'n Ellie and Ada up. I was supposed to try and get 2 bunnies done also but I only got 1 done. I don't think I could get another one done now. My stitches would surely be as crooked as the creek out back ! Here's a few pics of Hetty and her sisters............

Thats Ms.Ada on the left....Ms Hetty in the middle and Ms. Ellie on the right. Ms. Ellie has found a lil nest with some eggs n birdies in it. She just loves nature ;0} Ms. Ada works hard around the homestead and doesn't have much time to do anything else. Ms. Hetty has found some signs of spring and just had to pick some flowers.

Did ya'll get any snow ? We got about 2 inches here. Supposed to get more again late Monday, early Tuesday. I am so ready for Spring to be here. Now don't get me wrong I love winter. I don't mind the snow but I am ready to get started on some projects I can't do till it warms up a bit. I have cabinets that still need to be finished up. Lots of TS finds I can't wait to do somethin' with.....my list could go on and on lol........Oh myyyy I must have dozed for a minute there lol. I looked up to a screen full of kkkkkkkk's hmmmm maybe I better try and get a couple hours sleep ! How Bout A Tuesday Tutorial~Pattern Making & Ramblin

Hi ya'll ! Hope this post finds ya'll in GREAT spirits =0}

I got some good news to share !!!! I sold 3 dolls today !!!!

Wooot Woooot. I am soooo excited. I stopped at the lil indoor flea market/Prim Store on my way home and showed her some more dolls and she want's me to bring in at least 6 dolls by 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning to sell on consignment. She said she has been gettin' lots of requests for prim black dolls and told them to check Saturday that she would have some in then.......So what am I doing besides sittin' my patootie down to sew ? lol Yea I gotta' blog to my Prim Pals first dangit lol. Thank goodness i don't require much sleep lol. I work everyday this week =( Then I get my every other weekend off. Yipppeeee...except it goes to dang fast ! I got Ms. Hetty all finished up. She is one of the dolls I sold except the lady wants her in red and wants me to stitch the name Dovey on her sack. Then I sold 2 rabbits I got sewed up from a pattern I drew up Monday. That's the tutorial I'm gonna share with ya's....more on that in a minute lol. I also want to ask if you all would add myself and my family in your prayers. I don't want to go into details because I want to keep my blog a happy place but I have some things that are heavily weighing on my heart and mind and adding unneeded stress. Hubby and I've been puttin' on a brave face for the kids sake and prayin' that things come out o.k. in the end. Sorry to even put this out there on a public forum BUT I know Gods power and I know prayer can and does work ! Maybe not the way we think it should come out, but God knows what's best for us even if we don't understand it at the time. Anyway thanks ya'll for readin' my ramblin' thoughts and for prayers. Now on to a happier note.....

O.k. now on to the tutorial......

I am NOT very good at making my own paper patterns. I've tried to draw a few in my time and they usually end up gettin' tossed ! I have trouble gettin' it drawn proportianlly right. I just can't get it to match well lol. So I usually just take scissors and cut out the fabric and go from there. But who want's to take the chance of wastin' fabric ? And what if I wanna' make another one just like it ? Well this is how I improvised in trying my hand at making a pattern.....

First I drew half of a head shape on computer paper.....

LOL lookin' at that pic just now it looks like I used part of my hand and thumb !!! Just noticed that hehehe....hmmmm maybe I'll try that next time !

Then I folded the paper in half......

And cut the shape out so both sides of the head would be the same.

Then I did the same for the body......

And this is what lil Bunny Foo Foo looks like tryin' on different leg styles lol ....

Here He is all sewed up...... I got him painted a chocolate brown and he has corduroy britches and a homespun shirt. I forgot to take pics of him all dressed up. Maybe next time.

Hope ya'll find this usefull. So far it's been the easiest way for me....

Until my artistic skills pick up lol.....OR I can convince Jess he needs to be my pattern drawer. He did such a GREAT job on the cardinal pattern for me I know he could draw me up some Prim Dollies lol. Pretty Pleaseeeeeeee Jess......with maybe a new xbox game in the future on top ???? lol {wink}

I also wanna' share a few work pics with ya'll so you can see what a work day consists of for me......

See all those lovely stacks of bread ? That's just part of the bread we sort through and stock our store shelves with in a day. We check dates, look for holes in the packaging and mark each one so customers can't buy from us and take it to the grocery store to get full price for it. Believe me people have done this ! We check 3000 plus items a day, stock shelves and wait on customers. No wonder I'm so pooped when I get home huh ? lol I can't believe I've been doin' this for 8 and a half years...It's sure took a toll on my poor ol' back and feet but I'm thankful I have a job.

Ohhhh I almost forgot to share one more thing. I drove past my fav barn to see if they had changed their message yet...... I really enjoy reading the messages they put up. Soooo I drove by and......

Nooooooooo.........no message ? =( Hoping they have a new one up soon. I did get a better pic of the cross to share....

Ohhhh and do ya'll like doin' things like this for extra chances to enter giveaways ? Just wanted a lil feedback for future ones. I really love to share my love of prim things with ya'll and trully enjoy doin' giveaways. I wish I could give every one of ya'll a lil somethin' !

This is one of the things I've been workin' on gettin' together.

I bought one just like this at an antique store last year. It recently got knocked off and broke a piece of it. =( (concrete subfloors stink !) So we used the unbroken pieces to draw up a pattern to make a new piece to fix it. Well hubbs cut it out for me and I did the prim'n. I saved the pattern as a pdf file and thought about sharin' it with ya'll that like to do your own "do it yourself " woodworkin' projects.

Then I wondered would that be o.k. to do ?

Seein' how it's not my pattern, I have no clue who made it, how old it is for sure and I didn't wanna do somethin' I shouldn't sooooo

I'd love your input on this. What do ya'll think about it ?

O.k. now on to the project......

The Base .... Now after I paint it I go back and go to town with sandpaper. Really get in there and sand ;0) I make sure and get edges really good and any other areas that should look (or you want to look) like they are worn with time.

Putting on the stain. I used..... ok my CRADT kicked in....oh wait I have a pic of it lol.....

That poor label has seen it's better days ! It's folkart walnut stain.

The longer you leave it on the darker your results. You can test it out on a scrap piece beforehand to get an idea how light or dark you really want it to look. Play around with it.

Wiping off the stain. I left mine on for a few minutes and then wiped it off. I didn't think it was dark enough so I did it again. You can use an old rag or sometimes I use paper towel or even coffee filters. I love seeing the results after this stage.

I think it turned out pretty darn good don't you ?

And ya can't even tell where the new section is ! Wooot Wooot Good cuttin' there Hubbs ;0) and yepp sometimes Hubbs does read my blog. So my racing heart post I probably woulda' eventually been caught bloggin' and NOT removin' the stuff from my wall that was to be painted lol. Speakin' of.....Hubbs got the light rewired so all I need to do is paint and stain it and it'll be ready to go up ! Yeahhhh.

O.k. I'm sneakin' in a quick post shhhh.... hubs is in the bathroom with a wood working magazine so he should be a bit hehehe...

We're supposed to be finishing up paintin' the walls in the living room. But I can't wait till later to show ya'll somethin'.

We made a quick trip into town to do a few quick errands. He needed a usb keyboard to fix his Mom's computer so we stopped by Goodwill to look for one. Jackpot he found one for $1.99. Well today was also a "Jackpot" for me too !!!! We were walking past the lamps section and I was saying to the Hubs how you gals found the most awesome chandeliers and redid 'em. I glanced over and Ohhhhh what to my wondering eyes did I see ???? Yahooooooo

be still my "RACING" heart and shaky hands to boot lol. I said Honey looooooook really loudly. A couple of people turned around to see what the commotion was all about lol. Hubs says shhhhh... Well ya'll know how it is when ya' find a deal or somethin' your lil ol' pea pickin' heart desires ! It's hard ta' shhhhhhh..... Darn It
